At the Harry Potter Fest in Oak Park, IL, we discover the joys
of Harry Potter lookalikes.
My friends Nancy and Caryn and I met up for a highly enjoyable night of
sleepovers, s'mores, Butterbeer, Harry Potter Ballet, Jimmy John's,
The Notebook, K-Mart near closing time, flavored popcorn,
and general hooliganery. Oh, 6th Harry Potter book!

Nancy is so happy to be there!

We headed over to the park area to grab our Maurader's Maps, but instead
we saw the show of a lifetime: The Harry Potter Ballet.
Many theories were posed as to who this slythery green girl was.
Was she time? Was she hope? What concept was she?
Turns out she was the snake that Harry Potter talked to in the first book.

Watchin'!

Lots of arguing in the wizard world.

Miss. Caryn L and Miss. Nancy P!

Butterbeer! Which was just cream soda and butterscotch, but pretty good
nonetheless.

All the stores had signs on them (it was Diagon Alley) that were stores
from the
Harry Potter world. This framing place had this skeleton type thing in
the front
window and a fog machine. All three of us were highly attracted to that
fog machine
so we went in.

"Pretend like you're the picture, Caryn!" - Me.

"Concept picture?" - Caryn
"Concept picture!" - Me

At the Jimmy John's.

I missed my #12 so!

Back at the Lichtenberg household, we hang out in Caryn's room, preparing
to
have some serious fun. Nancy browses through Caryn's stuff. What a thief!

Caryn reads a letter from her old roommate and friend, Jane.

I suggest making s'mores, so we head out to the K-Mart across the street
and we buy some chocolate (Cookies 'n Cream and regular Hershey's) and
some
marshmallows. Caryn's dad started the fire for us.

Caryn owns marshmallow roaster sticks!

Caryn also has a Max. Max is very cute and does not like to be petted
outdoors.
Only indoors. And only sometimes.

Time for bed! Caryn and I brush our teeth.

All three of us. Brushing. Three out of three girls brush their teeth.

The next morning, I take a picture of Nancy, because that's what I do.

Caryn lovingly stayed with me on the Oak Park train platform before she
went to go babysit. It was soooo hot outside.

I am a fox. Do not deny this unalienable fact/truth.

But look how coquettish Caryn is in this picture! I quite like this one.

My mom so nicely took me to the Costco in Oakbrook (not Oak Park) later
that day for sweet polish sausages and buying of the Harry Potter book
(one for
me, one for my sister.)
